Name: Fawn

Breed: pit bull terrier

Age: adult 5 yrs.

Fawn is an adult female american pit bull terrier, possible mixed with some lab. She is petite in size and a very bright girl. Fawn is a graduate of canine good citizens training and she knows all her commands. She knows sit, down, paw, stay, come and speak. When the mood strikes her she will also roll over. Fawn was adopted from the shelter several years ago and lived in a home with children and other animals(although she was bullied by another dog) because of this, she does pick an choose which other dogs she wishes to be friends with. Fawn keeps her cage clean and we believe her to be housebroken. When Fawn first gets out of her kennel, she does her business before having any interest in play. When she is ready to play though, she will race around the yard like a speaking bullet(occasionally stopping to grab a kiss or hug) then she is back on her way again. All this energy is very short lived though, before you will find Fawn drop to the ground and take on a bit of rolling around and grazing. We like to call her Bessie sometimes, because she does like to graze and her belly has these cute little black spots on it that resembles a cow. Fawn is extremely affectionate once she becomes your friend, but she does sometimes take some time warming up to people that she is unsure of. When she is in her cage/kennel she can react but most of the time once she is removed from that situation she is well behaved. Fawn appears to have more of an insecurity with men(especially bearded men) but even with men, once she sees that she can trust you, she will come out of her shell. Obviously she would do best in a environment with women, but she should do okay with anyone willing to take the time to get to know her and build that trust she needs to feel safe and secure. If you have any questions about Fawn or would be interested in getting to know her you can contact Tiara or Tammy at polarbear12@aol.com as they are the people who work with her most often and have become her mentors.
