Municipal Contracts - we are still taking stray animals - please read
We will accept strays in 2013 in a new way-
Municipalities that would like to drop off strays must arrange for invoice billing ahead of time.
To Municipalities of Northampton Co. PA
Starting on January 1, 2013, the Center for Animal Health and Welfare will no longer be accepting municipal animal control contracts. Instead, the Center will treat animals from municipal sources in a similar manner to a private relinquishment and requiring payment at the time of relinquishment. The only exception to this policy will be for municipalities that arrange for invoice billing ahead of time. All other services that were provided under the former municipal animal control contracts will be available only at the Centerís discretion as of January 1.
The standard fee for drop-off will be $150.00 per animal. Animals will only be accepted on a space-available basis and at the discretion of the Centerís staff. In order to ensure that an animal will be accepted by the Center, we suggest calling ahead.
Additionally, if your municipality wishes the convenience of invoice billing for an animal, we suggest that you arrange the details of such an arrangement ahead of time. We request that you designate an agent who will be empowered to bind your municipality for our relinquishment fee. You may contact The Center at (610)252-7722
Furthermore, we are still actively seeking municipal partners for our Trap, Neuter, and Release grant program to address the problems posed by feral cat colonies in Northampton County. If you are interested in benefiting from this program, please contact The Center (610)252-7722 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
